For this quartet, Bernstein is joined by Sullivan Fortner (piano), Doug Weiss (bass) and Kush Abadey (drums) - a line-up of musicians whose collective experience spans generations of modern jazz. Together they move effortlessly from blues-inflected material through the language of the 1960s and into contemporary repertoire, with a shared focus on groove, interaction and melodic clarity.
While each member has performed with some of the most influential figures in late 20th and 21st century jazz, the emphasis here is firmly on the present moment. Expect music shaped by deep tradition but realised as a real-time conversation between the musicians on stage.
